Charging an RC car battery?
Hello I am trying to start getting into RC cars so i bought a Traxxas Slash, and the people at the hobby store said i should get a Orion 7 Cell 8.4V 4500mAh Stick Pack w/Trx Plug https://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/358320.asp and for the charger a Pro-Peak AC Delta 3 (2/3.5/5A)F.Chg (http://www.ripmax.com/item.asp?itemid=O-IP1505&Category=O0050 and yes they also sold me the Traxxas adapter) but they didnt tell me how long i should charge the battery for, and i have also read that trickle charge isnt recommended, if i could get some help and tips that would be great thank you very much.
Well when I connect the battery to the charger it only stays on red for about 5 minutes then it goes to green, and when I put it in the car it barely moves. Is this normal or is the charger bad?
HI,
your charger has Selection switch for 2-3.5-5 amps from your link it has a fast charge on it. Charge at 3.5 at first it should have a led light on it some place that tells you it’s in fast charge. When it go’s to trickle it will change color or flash witch tells you you are in trickle mode. All trickle really means is that the battery is charged and the charger is just putting very little in to it. Charge time may take 20 minutes to ? hours but. to keep you pack good for a while and get a deep charge 3.5 would be good for it and then you can go up to the 5 amps witch will charge it faster for you.

what would be faster and a better motor for my tmaxx. the traxxas 3.3 or the sirio .23?
the sirio .23 would be more powerful but my b/f reccomends the ofna maxx .26 its powerful relliable and stropn motor and will bolt up exactly you just need to get an ofna motor mount

How fast will a Traxxas E-Maxx go with a HV6.5 High-Voltage Sensored Brushless Motor?
I am trying to diecide if it is worth getting or not or if I should go with the 4.5, but the shorter run times of the 4.5 saddens me. So how much faster is an Emaxx with the 6.5 as compared to a stock Emaxx?
It is alot faster. The 6.5 is almost a third faster and more easy to use.

i have a old t-maxx 2.5 that doesnt run well and needs some new parts. would it be a good idea to trade it to someone for a mint condition gs storm truggy 1/8th scale and 150$? ( t-maxx might need new engine)
Mate, go electric. Sell the Maxx and buy a Slash with VXL. They’re indestructable and so freaken powerfull! It handles and looks great over bumps and through corners, you’ll never look back.
I used to race on road nitro, then got caught up on off road elctric and man… ITS GREAT!

can i use a rear jato shock tower on my xl5 electric traxxas rustler?
i am trying to trick out my rustler with vxl, a new body,some rims(wheels), road tires , and some lipo batteries and a couple of chargers. i cant seem to find a rustler body shaped like a chevy truck. they have them for jatos but they have 2 holes. a rustler shock tower only has one hole in the center of the truck bed. so i thought i might purchase a rear jato shok tower so the body will fit. i just didnt know if i could do that. if anyone knows, i would appreciate it if they could let me know!
