Traxxas T-Maxx or Traxxas T-Maxx 3.3?
I am thinking about getting either a T-Maxx 3.3 or one of the T-Maxx RC cars. How much are they? Are they reliable? High Maintenance?
I have a T-Maxx 2.5, and from what i hear is that although old, are much better than the 3.3, i hear that 3.3′s are more powerful, but people say that overall the 2.5 t-maxx is a better machine than the 3.3 despite what the shop people say.
I love my 2.5 ! runz like a champ! (Just remember to learn the engine break-in rule thing, 5 tanks of easy going use to get that baby prepared for MAXIMUM potential) i hear if u don’t break your engine in correctly it can cause major problems to it later.
problem is, i don’t know if they sell 2.5′s anymore….but when i got it (i got some cool stuff with it, a new gear (metal instead of plastic so it doesnt strip and such) but total i spent about 800 dollars.
i beleive they are around 400 stock brand new, but meh.,..plastic doesnt last long so i’d advice you invest in some metal gears and other parts that may be…semi-fragile.

The Road Monster That is Traxxas E-Maxx
For those who are passionate with racing and seem to can’t get enough of speed, Traxxas has high-performance radio-controlled trucks. These miniature vehicles look like toys for the small boys, but they are powerful enough to be monsters of the road. When it comes to monster truck-trashing, wheel-popping monstrous torque and adrenaline-filled performance, there is nothing that even comes close to the Traxxas E-Maxx. Bar none. This radio-controlled truck promises high durability, awesome road tricks, innovation and technological perfection. Electric-powered yet at par with higher-end nitro-powered toys, the Traxxas E-Maxx is undeniably a 1/10 scale four wheel drive monster truck. Its powerful motor system, excellently-engineered suspension, innovative electronics and aggressive looks all define the road monstrosity that is within the E-Maxx. It is perfect for the more serious RC enthusiasts.
Exterior features first. This radio-controlled truck’s muscular body is painted with ProGraphix, a unique painting style that produces crisp coloring, smooth fades and clean lines. The graphic quality and design is excellent. The standard ‘blaze of fire’ design is perfectly fitting for the Traxxas E-Maxx‘s road power. But it is also available in various graphic designs and different color schemes like blue, red and white and black. As for the wheels, this toy has an extended 30mm wheelbase for improved stability; and it uses 3.8 inch mirror chrome twin-spoke wheels and 3.8 inch Maxx chevron tires.
Now for under the hood. The Traxxas E-Maxx boasts of twin-titan fan-cooled 550 high-torque motors. It has 30% longer motor armatures. Aside from that, this toy uses a waterproof Traxxas EVX-2 electronic speed control, which draws power from dual 7-cell battery packs, 14.4 power system and TQ-3 3-channel radio. It also uses the Revo-Spec Torque Control, to handle more torque produced by the motor and battery. As for the handling, the Traxxas E-Maxx rages the road with its two-speed transmission and dual servo steering system. When purchased, the parts are fully-assembled and this radio-controlled truck is ready-to-run.
This radio-controlled truck’s electronics and other inner parts and sealed and waterproof, so that it can run on basically whatever kind of terrain. Even the servos and ESC are fully-protected. So whether it be water, mud, snow, sand and other unfriendly conditions, the Traxxas E-Maxx surely blazes the trail. For casual hobbyists and the more serious RC enthusiasts, this radio-controlled truck is sure to bring hours of fun and excitement. To think that the Traxxas E-Maxx can run on water and snow is very exciting indeed.

Why won’t my Traxxas E-Maxx go in reverse?
I own an old edition of the Traxxas E-Maxx,and I have been having some troubles with it. Like my steering servo is all messes up and you have to throttle it to start and I won’t go backwards. The first two arnt a problem because it still starts and I ordered a new servo. But why won’t it go in reverse? If you know the solution or have had this problem before please help me out! Thanks.

Do LiFePO4 batteries expand when charging?
I bought some LiFePO4 batteries from MaxAmps.com for my 1/16 scale Traxxas Slash and they arrived before my charger/balancer for them arrived. So in my impatience, I went ahead and used the charger that came with the NiMH battery that was included with the slash. While charging them i noticed they were expanding. So I am wondering if i should by new ones because these a broken.
These are Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries not Lithium Polymer batteries.
YOU ARE VERY LUCKY!
LI-POLY BATTERIES DO NOT LIKE TO BE ABUSED! THEY WILL VENT TO FLAME.
They are probably ruined. Lithium Poly batteries are very serious batteries and will burst into flame if they are not charged correctly or are dropped…. any abuse!
LiPo charge differently than NiCd or NiMH.
