Remote Control gas powered cars?

I have been wanting to purchase a gas powered R/C car for a while. Since I am a beginner I was thinking that a gas car may be to advaned and maybe I should start with electric. The car I was thinking of buying was the traxxas nitro 2.5 4-tec, does anyone have suggestions?

Start with an electric. Any Traxxas electric will work for a beginner. May I suggest the Stampede or Rustler because of how strong they are. They can be driven on or offroad. So its the best of both worlds. Some links to the rc cars:

Erm. Depends what you mean by better.
The nitro sport will go round corners better, but the S Maxx will deal with more off road terrain.
Ive got the nitro sport, and i really like it. That said, the Smaxx is a good model.
Get the S maxx, theres alot more prestige to having a big ‘ol monster truck.
That said, the nitro sport is great, you cant really go wrong with either.

well traxxas is a good brand and your smart with nitro you cant go wrong with the traxxas nitro cars the slayer is and awesome truck but like you said is kinda spendy along with the revo do you want a street car or an off road truck? id recommend the s-maxx for 2wd awesome fun or the tmaxx for 4wd climbing and all around do anything fun also the rustler is a good one too but its all up to you my man hope this helps

tmaxx is ur best bet. they have been around for ever. those things are like tanks. back then me and my friends would to thos thing of jumps like 2 even 3 stories high . then the would land upside down and we always shut em off to make shure there okay and there was nothing wrong. we’d just fire em up again and do it all over. lus they have unlimited hop up parts. theres so many.

what is the best rc monster truck for me?

i want a rc electric monster truck, at first i wanted to get the Traxxas Rustler RTR Electric ST XL-5 w/ ESC but i heard traxxas is not durable. so now im trying to find another rc monster truck. the monster truck must fit my budget of 200. it should go more than 35+ the company maker must be known for durablility and it must be good for jumps. so idk if you ahve any reccomendations but plz help me my b-day is aug23 and i want to have an rc monster truck for my party. good day

well if you havent chosen a brushless system yet i personally would suggest the castle creations mamba max 5700kv. it by far is the most powerful brushless kit out. other than the kit itself you will need to tear into your tranny and change out the idler gear to the machined aluminum gear part #1996x and machined delrin top gear part #3195x. i have also found that changing every suspension part and bumper to RPM brand parts reduces replacing parts but isnt necessary to run. heres some links to vids of me and my friends rustler and stampede brushless.
