What is the best nitro RC Truck for the money?

I’m looking for a nitro-powered off-road truck that costs less than $300. I’ve been looking at the Traxxas Nitro Stampede, but I’m wondering if that will be too slow, or won’t be good enough because it doesn’t have 4wd? Is the nitro Stampede a pretty fast truck for beginners? Are there any 4wd trucks for under $300?

Traxxas web site says it will do 33+mph. The T-MAXX 2.5 that I got last year does 45+ and it is almost impossible to control at that speed, unless your in a wide open parking lot. But I think you should take your time a think about it, because 4×4 is a lot better and turns better to. Good luck.
If you are planning on racing eventually, either competitively or in organized track events, then I would stay away from the Stampede or any 2WD truck for that matter.
A much better option would be the T-Maxx 2.5. It’s faster than the Stampede, 4WD, and is a better option if you ever want to get into racing. rcplanet.com has it on sale for $329 or you can go to towerhobbies.com and pay in 3 installments.
