Where can I find the manufacturer’s original settings on my Nitro RC car’s 18 CXP engine?
I am having a terrible time getting my Nitro RC car started! I have new fuel, new glow plugs, and fresh batteries in my glow starter, yet I find myself pulling and pulling on the pull starter and the thing just won’t ‘turn over!’ It sounds and seems like it wants to start but it just kinda sputters like it’s missing something to keep it going?… I recently installed a new air filter and fuel filter, I don’t think either one was a necessary addition but I don’t see it hurting either. I’ve since adjusted every needle and I’m wondering if I’ve just changed them so much that they need to go back to the manufacturer’s presets before I have any success at getting it started… From what I can tell, there is no brand name for my RC car the box says stuff like VH-A6 and Rapid Speed it was made in China and I guess it’s like a generic replica of a Traxxas or Cen car…any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh man,never mess with the low end needle,top end only,low end ajustments must only be tweaked for perfomance while it’s running.The low end is the needle below the top end,try and put the low end back where you think it was.Now turn the top end needle,the one that stands straight up gennerally,turn clock wise till it stops,only till it stops dont torque it down,then back it out counter clockwise 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 turns,thats where it should start to show life.I don’t know where you can find factory settings,but gennerally all r/c cars are set at what i wrote above.If you have a digital camera email me a close up of the carburetor. hemi426mopar@yahoo.com this way i may be able to give some advise on the low end ajustments,also heres a site go become a member and go to forums in car section and ask them guys there thoughts on it.http://rcuniverse.com good luck.
