Why does my rc nitro truck do this?
Ok i just received a Traxxas T-maxx from a guy i know. he told me whenever you start it what you want to do is fill the fuel tank and then pour a little gas over the carb and it will start right up. is this ok for the truck? also whenever i start it the truck will not stay still it will just run slowly and never stop all the way and it will sometimes like click when it is at idol then my last problem is the steering is opposite and what i mean by that is when i turn the wheel to the left the truck goes to the right.
I would love it if i could get this fixed without going to the expensive hobby store because its such a neat hobby that i would love to keep doing

here i come to the rescue again….lol, your friend is right about filling the tank, but you dont need to pour fuel over the carb, you need to prime the carb, you can do this several ways, one is by using the primer, either found on the tank as a button you push, or its a bulb you squeeze, another way is by turning the flywheel causing back pressure to push fuel to the carb, only prime it until you see fuel reach the carb, any more than that and you risk flooding the engine
as to the problem with the truck not sitting still, your idle is set to high, start the truck and hold it still while turning the idle screw on the carb down until the truck doesn’t roll forward anymore but stays running
and to fix the steering issue, on your remote you should have a servo reversing switch, or it could be in a menu on the LCD screen, find that and switch it, and you should be all set
