To make sure that young girls wanted to buy this Barbie car Mattel and the Taws racing team joined forces and produced a marketing campaign. This campaign saw ads that followed Taws as she drove around in the hot pink Barbie car.
The looks and the career of this “Barbie” made girls not only buy this Barbie car but also follow the action of their new role model. As long as girls enjoy watching the many new developments in the world of Barbie there will always be new developments to be found in the Barbie accessories. basically it was a line of madmax style combat vehicles, the one that really sticks in mind was a halftack dumptruck with armor and weapons, all the vehicles had gang-like markings, i believe another in the series was a jeep. a friend of mine and i were talking about how cool toys used to be compared to the crap on the market now, and its been driving me crazy trying to remember the name of this line. i believe it was either hasbro or mattel that put it out.
