Why are there no old Disney characters in Toy Story?
Just curious!
A lot of famous toys from Mattel and Fisher Price make it in to the Toys Story movies which make it seem very realistic. But why no Disney toys? not even a Winnie the Pooh clock or a princess pencil case . I felt they were conspicuous in their absence. Why not some reference to past movies? Or have I missed them?
I only got thinking about this due to the appearance of Totoro in Toy Story 3 which I gather is because the Pixar founder is good friends with Miyazaki. He made it in!
I think it is because Pixar wasn’t always a Disney company. They make references to other movies made by Pixar in every movie, but they don’t reference Disney in general because they don’t necessarily share that history.
