Contract Purchase – A synonym of contract hire with a difference

The contract hire system is a car finance scheme that facilitates hiring a care for a specified period of time where individuals and business houses are saved from actually buying the car initially. The car financing scheme brings along with it a lot many advantages and benefits. Here individuals and business houses are required to pay very affordable monthly installments for specified period of time; usually 12 to 18 months for pre-registered cars and 18 to 60 months in case of newly branded vehicles. Thus cutting down on costs is one major advantage. Registered VAT users are entitled to several tax benefits as well. Apart from this individuals and business houses are saved from the headaches and expenses of car maintenance and service related issues; since all this is taken care of by way of contract. This takes into account expenses related to the normal wear and tear of the car, damages in the course of usage and matters related to road tax. On a business perspective profit gearing ratios are enhanced and the money saved in the process may be used for business development or any other suitable purpose. For an individual it is the ‘savings’ benefit that is much enhanced here.

In view of the above contract purchase is similar to the contract; the only difference being in the fact that here you are given the option to purchase the car at the end of the contract, that is absent in case of the car contract hire system. Both business personnel as well as individuals may avail of this scheme.

There is a minimum initial deposit that needs to be met (i.e. usually the monthly installments X 3); and the contract may be over a 12 to 60 months period, as agreed upon at the initial stages of the contract. At the initial stages of the contract or at the point of negotiation the funder approves of the finance for the car and informs you about the guaranteed future value (i.e. the GFV) of the car, which is usually a constant that cannot be changed in the course of the contract. In this regard, in the course of hiring the car you have the choice of taking the car with complete and full maintenance for the purpose of controlling budgets and to be saved from maintenance headaches and expense in the future. In terms of business, the car is shown as an asset on the balance sheet where a proportion of value can be written down against profits, thus enhancing profit gearing ratios.

But the contract purchase differs from the contract hire system namely in the sense that at the end of the contract you are at liberty to return the car back to the financer without paying the GFV (i.e. guaranteed future value) of the car. This does not bring about any sort of penalty in normal circumstances (unless you’ve exceeded mileage or have damaged the vehicle). Secondly, you have a choice of opting for refinancing the car for an extended time frame. Lastly, you may pay up the GFV (i.e. guaranteed future value) of the car and retain the same. You may then sell or exchange the same for a brand new car.

Help with the word “voracious” and “surreptitious”?

We have to write a definition, synonym, antonym, and sentence for our vocabulary words. Well i just so happen to be stuck, i can’t understand what to put for these two words. This is what i have:

“voracious” def:greedy, exceedingly hungry, eager to consume
syn:insatiable,ravenous
ant:generous,full,satisfied
sentence: Henry is a voracious eater OR Henry is a
voracious reader

“surreptitious” def:done, made or acquired by stealth
syn:secretive,covert,sneaky
ant:open
sentence:Priests are surreptitious in the act of
confession

Does my information seem correct?
Anything i should change or add?
Which sentence to use or do you have an another?

Thanks in advance!
Or should i put a thief is surreptitious instead of a priest because Im not sure if surreptitious is supposed to be used negatively?

Henry has voracious appetite, if he keeps eating like this the fridge will soon be empty.

The hooded figure continued with his task, his surreptitious methods allowed him to gain the information he sought without discovery.

I see where you are going with the Priest and covert/secret. Covert intelligence cannot defined in a “Confession” to a Priest. The person making the confession is doing so of their own free will and the Priest is NOT the one to instigate the conversation. Yes it does remain secret BUT not a secret that is “stolen” or acquired by “stealth”.

Otherwise good work.
