Are you from another country, but living in America? If so…?
If you are originally from another country but are now living in America, may I please ask why you came to America?
Assuming the definition of the American Dream is
the ideals of freedom, equality, and opportunity traditionally held to be available to every American. And for your children to live a better life than yours.
Do you think that the “American Dream” has exceeded your expectations??
I moved from Canada to the US in 2001. Primarily for personal reasons – my (now) wife lived here. But working in the same industry I earn over double what I did in Canada. We’ve bought a great house and live in a place I never want to leave.
I’m often frustrated by the lack of insight into what’s going on in the rest of the world. 80 percent of Americans didn’t have passports a few years ago, although that’s changing. And in many ways, outside the large cities it seems culturally kind of backwards, but these are small gripes and really only generalizations. My friends, almost all American, are as smart, well travelled, and curious as the best people in any country.
I love it here, and I never want to leave.
