General beginner questions about Nitro RC cars.?

I’m considering buying a Nitro RC. Either a buggy or a truck, something real good at off-road, but I have a few questions.

1. About how much does the fuel cost, and about how long does it last? Like how many dollars worth of fuel do you think the average person would go through in 30 minutes of driving one?
2. Are they designed to drive in sand? Like can you ride it at the beach all day, or would it get ruined from getting sand inside it?
3. What about water? Can you drive them through puddles without ruining them?
4. How about mud? Can you go through mud bogs and hose them off afterwards?
5. What’s considered a powerful engine? I see .15′s, .18′s, .28′s and inbetween. How big of engine do you generally need to go 60mph in a buggy or truck.
6. What are the advantages/disadvantages of a 4×4 buggy vs a 4×4 truck?
7. I’ve seen a few electric ones (even for under $100) that claim they can reach speeds of the nitro ones. Are electric ones actually very good?

Thanks.

well…. its hard to say for question number 1. i would say just 5-10 dollars for a gallon or 2. and you would only go threw 2 full tanks within 30 mins of driving, but it depends on how hard your going like if you going low speeds taking it easy, not much fuel, ya know? for #2 yes they can go in sand but it may damage a little, you can also drive it threw water and mud, but they need something to cover the servos, and stuff like that search on Google for ways to water, and sand proof it, you don’t have to worry that much about mud, i wouldn’t just go and spray it with water though you can clean the outside but not so much the servos and electric, stuff.#5 a powerful engine is dependent on were you driving it, you want to go 60 miles, then you should get like a .18 or .16, #6 the advantages or a buggy is its normally faster, but trucks are more powerful and look cooler in my opinion. #7 if you want to go off road you DON’T want electric trust me nitro might need a bit more tunning but they are faster, stronger, funner, and have longer run times then electric, + electric needs charging and don’t run that long like you can charge for 5 hours and run for 5 mins hope that helped.
