Ford transmission 5th/reverse adjustment.?
I have a m5od-r1 (m5r1). The guy that I bought it from said that it was popping out of 5th while driving. He said that he tried to adjust the 5th/reverse adjustment bolt. I cannot find any information online on how to make sure he adjusted it to where it is supposed to be.
I want to know how to adjust this in order to make sure that my transmission will work properly when I put it in.
FYI, I have already looked the tranny over, and the only thing that I can find for why it would pop out of gear is that the input shaft has some horizontal end play(about .030″), and a little bit of axial play, though I do not believe that axial will be a problem due to this transmission requires a pilot bearing for the input shaft.
I am looking for adjustment instructions for m5r1 (mazda) transmission.

it sounds like the detent for that gear shaft is loose, it might be time to take it in to a transmission shop or rebuilt it your self.
