how does a fan work? explain the movement of air in the fan? the axial directionmovement?how is vaccum formed?
Fan works on the principle of aero-dynamics. Talking about celing fan, If u see the blades then u will find it will rotate in anti-clock wise direction. The rear edge of the blades is bend at certain angle throughout this will give direction of air to flow downwards. The front edge of the blades is horizontal to ceiling/ground this will give motion to air or u can say simply cuts the air to give momentum to the layer of air which is in immediate contact with the top and bottom surface of blades. As u can see the the air at the bottom surface i.e. the surface of blade which we can see, will gets cuts/sweeped through the much of the flat wing surface but at the rear edge it will gets diverted towards ground this will create a draught effect for the upper air to flow downwards. Moreover, considering the the top surface of the blades, the air gets cuts/sweeped through the entire surface and at the rear edge due to draught created by the air at the bottom surface as i mentioned earlier, it will move downwards aided by the bend in the blades. The next blade in motion will again cut the same air layer and force it to move down again.. thus staggered layers of air will move down and down due to fast rotary motion of the blades. At some point of time the air will loose its streamline/layered flow and drag/turbulence will occur (due to hindrance/friction with the layers of air in the room) will led to flow the air though out the area. Thus, we feel air flowing..
Sometimes little techinical knowledge mixed with imagination and practical know-how will led to complete understanding.. This applies to the aspects of life also..
