Why isn’t Yahoo reporting that Mattel apologized to China?
It was such a HUGE deal when Mattel and the entire USA condemned China for all of the defects, recalls, faulty toys, etc., when Mattel reported it. Now, today, Mattel formally apologized to China for falsely accusing them of wrongdoing. as it turns out, there was a very small quantity of a toy with lead paint (which is legal in China) found, and all of the other problems were MATTEL DESIGN FLAWS!!!
So where are the huge headlines condemning Mattel, to match the ones that condemned China initially?
The reality is, Mattel makes HUGE profits by manufacturing in China, and most of us could not afford to buy our kids toys if they were not made there.
I don’t feel sorry for Mattel at all. Too many products are made overseas because of cheap labor.

8 Dolls That Sell Well on e-Bay.
From the beginning, eBay’s primary growth came from the
collectibles market. There are two basic models for eBay
sales:
1. Currently available consumer’s goods. This is a price-
driven model, and although smart sellers can earn above-
average prices, buyers are there looking for a bargain and
price is the #1 consideration.
2. Other buyers are collectors, looking for one-of-a-kind
unique items that they can’t locate elsewhere. Here, price
isn’t as important as it is with consumer goods. The power
of this market is obvious because, before eBay and the
Internet, most collectors were confined to a local market.
Dolls have always been big sellers as eBay collectibles and
eight of them are especially strong sellers:
1. The Cabbage Patch Kids began in 1978 and are never
“sold”. They are ‘born’ at Babyland General Hospital in
Cleveland, Georgia and proud parents pay an ‘adoption fee’.
The Cabbage Patch Kids were one of the greatest toy
phenomenons of the later 20th century. At one time, it was a
common sight to see grown women shopping and lunching with
their babies in hand. In restaurants, the Kids had their own
chairs and were always appropriately dressed for the
weather.
2. Precious Moments began in the early 1970s when creator
Sam Butcher began drawing the endearing teardrop-eye
children as gifts for family and friends. Today Sam’s
Precious Moments artwork is among the most recognized in the
world, and eBay prices reflect this popularity.
3. Madame Alexander dolls were created in 1923. These
beloved dolls range from Charlie Brown to babies and
children to elegant dressed women to glamorous and famous
women like Greta Garbo and Judy Garland. With all the
varieties of costumes, a single doll can be a 1920s flapper
as easily as a member of the court of Louis XIV.
4. Lee Middleton dolls, according to legend, are so real in
appearance that grown men sent for a rescue squad to save
“the baby” from a locked car! Mistaken identity is
supposedly a frequent occurrence and the dolls have been
counted as “passengers” on airplanes and rescued from store
countertops to prevent the ‘baby’ from falling. As one happy
owner says, “These dolls are so lifelike it’s uncanny.”
5. American Girl dolls are loved by millions of little girls
(and grownups, too!) They are not only from different times
and places, but are ethnically diverse: Felicity from
colonial Virginia; Josephina from the 1830′s in New Mexico;
Kirsten is “a pioneer girl of strength and spirit growing up
in Minnesota in 1854″; Addy is alive in the 186o’s, having
escaped from slavery with her mother; Samantha is “a bright
Victorian girl living with her wealthy grandmother in 1904″;
Kit is growing up in 193os, during America’s Great
Depression; Molly lives in the 1940′s while her dad is away
at war; Kaya is a Nez Perce Indian living in the northwest.
6. Hasbro dolls are one of the products of the gigantic
Hasbro company, who claim to have been making toys for eight
generations, including famous games like Monopoly, Scrabble
and Clue.
7. Bratz dolls, unlike older dolls like Madame Alexander and
Cabbage Patch Kids, have no long history as favorite toys or
collectibles. Nevertheless, their price has astonished eBay
sellers and the Bratz collection was one of the ‘super hits’
of the 2003 holiday season and sales have been strong ever
since.
8. And, no surprise, Barbie is the best-selling doll on
eBay. Since Mattel has recently announced that Ken and
Barbie will no longer be an “item”, dolls from the ‘good old
days’ when the name “Barbie” was rarely heard without ‘Ken’,
will inevitably become more valuable.
Anyone who loves and understands the doll market can do
very well selling dolls on eBay. They’ve been strong
sellers for the 10 years eBay has been in existence and are
almost certain to remain popular for years to come.

All nitro rc cars need regular maintenance, just check that you get the manuals with the car. If not have a look online, some companies offer their manuals as free .pdf file downloads for viewing on Adobe Acrobat Reader.
It’s handy that you are getting the starter kit, many of the things included are things most people have to buy separately.
.18 engines are good engines, they’re the largest of the ‘small block’ engines. They have more power than smaller sizes and they still rev well over 35,000 rpm. With care and regular maintenance it shouldn’t give you any problems.
As you said it is brand new you will have to ‘break in’ the engine, this will be explained in the manual with the car, but basically make sure the car is running slightly too rich for the first half gallon of fuel and never open the throttle more than half way for more than 2 seconds at a time.
The fuel is quite expensive, it is special glow fuel or nitro fuel and usually can only be bought from hobby shops who sell nitro rc cars. It can be bought online, but some companieshave a limit on how far they can deliver it because it’s flammable and if it leaks it can cause problems.

Is the Duratrax nitro evader st good?
i bought a duratrax nitro evader st and was wondering if it was good for bashing. and how long it should last me. also what is the top speed on it. and are their any stock parts that i should replace that break easily?
I had a Nitro Evader st. It is a very good basher, decently strong. It is not used much as a racer. The stock engine has a lot of torque which is great for bashing. Full aluminum suspension and easily adjustable springs. The car will take a beating
The engine itself, IMO, should last at least 3 gallons, it comes with a 1 year warranty, so do take advantage. (Tip: when sending it in for replacement, take out the air-filter and clutch/clutch Bell and they will give you a new one, they did for me) The only reason my engine broke was due to me modifying it with forced induction. As for the car, it should last as long as you want as long as you replace bearings/shock oil every year or so and replace broken parts.
The top speed stock on the car is about 40mph. A quick way to change increase this is to re-gear. You can also shorten your pipe for more top-end. The car stock has a lot of acceleration and should be able to pull wheelies out of the box.
As for replacing stock parts, I would replace them as they break. Be sure to save the broken parts as your warranty will replace the broken parts for a limited time, I think 1 year. Aluminum parts can be expensive so it may be worth it to buy the stock part again or make your own parts. I made a steel shock tower with holes drilled in it to lighten weight.

Vertebral axial decompression therapy is a very useful tool for people who have horrible back problems because it is relatively inexpensive and it does not involve surgery. Data was collected from twenty-two medical centers for patients who received VAX-D therapy for low back pain, which was sometimes accompanied by referred leg pain. Only patients who received at least ten sessions and had a diagnosis of herniated disc, degenerative disc, or facet syndrome, which were confirmed by diagnostic imaging, were included in this study.
The data contained the patients’ quantitative assessments of their own pain, mobility, and ability to carry out the usual ‘activities of daily living’. The treatment was successful in 71% of the 778 cases, when success was defined as a reduction in pain to 0 or 1, on a 0 to 5 scale. Improvements in mobility and activities of daily living correlated strongly with pain reduction. The causes of back pain and their relationship to this therapy are also discussed.
Although imaging procedures, including CT and MRI, are able to accurately define structural pathology, the correlation of these anatomic findings with physiology, back pain, and other clinical complaints is imprecise. Although surgical decompression, epidural blocks, and spinal instrumentation can sometimes help patients suffering from back pain, these treatments do not completely take the biomechanical function of the disc into account, and may leave patients unrelieved of their suffering.
Low back pain is aggravated by activities that increase axial loading on the spine, such as sitting, standing, and lifting. Patients may describe some relief with walking, but more particularly, by lying down, which unloads the spine and reduces intradiscal pressure. The causes of mechanical low back pain may include degenerative disc disease, degenerative spondylosis with limitation of range of motion, facet arthropathy, relative lateral recess stenosis from a combination of the above, microenvironment presure changes affecting the thecal and epidural space from disc bulging, subligamentous and/or extruded herniation, and segmental instability.
A number of potential mechanisms are specifically addressed by the lumbar vertebral body separation achieved during therapy. With aging, disc desicction occurs, disc height is lost, and this process is accelerated with activities which produce high physical loading of the lumbar spine. Osteophytes develop along the anterolateral and posterior border of the vertebral bodies, and facet arthropathy increases as degenerative disc change advances . Normal vertebral body separation is lost as the disc degenerates. blood supply to the nerve roots of the cauda equina is sensitive to compression. Even at pressures of only 5-10 mmHg, the flow in over 20% of the venules was completely stopped. Flow in all the capillaries stopped at pressures between 20 and 50 mmHg. A pressure of 30 mmHg is slightly less than one pound per square inch, so solute transport is easily reduced. Even vertebral distractions of 1 or 2 mm per disc would reduce ligamental redundancy and help to restore canal/foraminal patency, reduce venous congestion and increase axoplasmic flow.

How can Canadian consumers organize a class action suit against Mattel for the recall of their toys.?
I for one do not accept Mattel Chairman’s apology for their recalled toys. Lead paint has been banned in Canada for many years. According to Mattel’s Annual Report, safety is assured. I am appauled beyond belief at the severe repercussions Mattel’s lack of quality control has had on the lives of our precious children. I would ask all who read this to boycott Mattel for life. Anything short of this is absolving them from the total irresponsibility they have shown in their disregard of selling toys under the name of a North American country which does not come close to meeting the saftey regulations of both Canada and the U.S. We families have bought their products for years, trusting that they will always guard the lives of our children. Quality control and safety testing should be their number one concern, and they have failed miserably. I would welcome feedback from any Canadian lawyer who would provide pro bono legal advice as to how to organize a Canadian class action suit.
I myself agree that Mattel should have done better to make sure that this toys were safe for our children. I mean for them to say that the parents should take more responibility and do our part to make sure that the toys our chldren are playing with are safe is unexceptible.We as parents have enough to do just raising our kids. I’m not goning to have every toy I but tested for lead or some other substance.
I think someone should be held accountable for this and I’m willing to do what it takes to make that happen.
I’m on board. I think the parents should come together to do something to make sure that this does’nt happen again.
